Landscape Architect Registration Exam After 6 Months' Approved Experience

Applicants for the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (LARE) may begin testing after education and six months’ approved experience under the direct supervision of a registered landscape architect. See Rule 3.21 and Rule 3.41.

Texas residents must apply for the LARE through TBAE and not through CLARB. After your application is approved by TBAE, we will notify CLARB that you are eligible to take the exam.

Important Notice

All registration requirements must be completed before you can be registered as a landscape architect, even if you have passed all parts of the LARE. This means that you must finish all of the required experience and complete the fingerprint requirement before you can be registered as a landscape architect.
